Wallworks

Manhattan White

Sometimes the subtlest things reveal the most complexity, like this hand-assembled wallwork. It is composed of hundreds of strips of reclaimed linen, cotton, and wool that have been layered and cross hatched into a textural new expanse. Felted by an industrial needle machine, the edges blur and blend seamlessly, revealing their former autonomy only upon careful observation and in the work’s raw edges.

  • Wallworks, in their most essential guise, are large-scale, one-of-a-kind wall hangings felted from reclaimed EILEEN FISHER clothing. The variety of materials, colors, and hand-arranged compositions renders each piece wholly unique. The size and textural quality of Wallworks make for a stunning addition to private and public spaces alike, providing visual impact and a modicum of acoustic dampening. Wallworks were first displayed in the Waste No More exhibit at Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano, the prestigious furniture and design trade fair.
