Studies
Tulips
Inventive construction gives this study a presence far exceeding its stature. Organic forms overlap to create a loosely fashioned tartan plaid. The interplay between positive and negative space engage the wall beneath to become part of the composition. And most striking, strips of reclaimed wool and linen act as brightly colored sutures connecting the upper and lower halves, like breaching spring tulips uniting soil and sky.

Studies are fiber-art compositions that serve as material exploration for Waste No More’s array of techniques and surprising visual effects. Often, they are the prototype for larger Wallworks. They are arranged by hand and industrially felted to produce one-of-kind artworks that can be framed, mounted, or hung as is. Made from remnants of reclaimed EILEEN FISHER clothing, they play with texture, color, and shape with a spirit of lively experimentation that far outsizes their intimate scale.
